FISHY BUSINESS
Refrigeration plants, fish carriers and industrial trawlers make it possible to catch enormous amounts of fish in one part of the world, process in another and sell in a third. This documentary tells the story of both the winners and the losers.

We meet a 25 year old Chinese speaking, shipowner’s son from Ålesund, who has just started his own business. The next half year will be crucial for this young entrepreneur. We also meet Thai fishermen who risk their lives fighting over vested interests, and we pay a visit to a salmon district that bitterly regrets selling a fish farm to a Dutch company.

During the film, we get to see the fascinating technology that has made the global fish trade possible. Just as the deep freeze caused a household revolution 50 years ago, refrigeration plants and ships are revolutionising the lives of many today. This programme is now in production.
